Based directly on a (at the time) top secret action sequence from the film, we recreated the squirrel suit scene, allowing the player to fly through a Decepticon-filled city skyline.
This project was ambitious and technically challenging, and made use of all of the Unity skills we’d built up on previous games.
An enormous, procedurally generated city is at the heart of the action. We created the city in-house, and then used level editing software we built for our previous Unity games to plot the player’s path through the skyscrapers. The enemies are based on models provided directly by Industrial Light and Magic, which we converted to low-poly models for use in the game, and we used the Detonator framework to create really satisfying explosions.
