Based on the popular children's books and popular CBBC TV series, Horrible Histories, Terrible Treasures is an interactive adventure packed with revolting facts and horrid characters.

Guided by a time-travelling rat lost in the sewers of time, you must collect pieces of a treasure map from different periods in history including Ancient Egypt, Rome and Tudor England.

We endeavored to create an online experience that would match the quality and comedy of the TV series, getting a balance between gameplay and story to create a new kind of interactive comedy show.

Working with the TV cast, we combined live action, puppet rats and green screen with 3D environments to create an immersive, playful experience.

Initially launching with two adventures, the Terrible Treasures experience was broadened a year later with two more episodes and a bonus minigame.

We collaborated closely with Lion Television to ensure continuity working with producers Michelle Feuerlicht, Kirtsy Hunter and series editor Giles Pilbrow to bring the past to life in this award-winning online experience.

“Littleloud combine the best of rich interactive gaming with high quality video. But that’s just where it starts really.

They are brilliant storytellers, their visual design is stunning and they completely got what made Horrible Histories successful as a brand and television show, making the Terrible Treasures games  for CBBC a seamless experience for the audience.

Most of all they are really genuinely lovely, passionate people and a joy to work with.”
